Introduction
Cycling is healthy and environmentally friendly. Here's what you need for safe driving.
Helmet
A helmet is the most important piece of safety equipment. Choose the right size - fits firmly, does not move. The helmet should be light, well ventilated, meet the safety standard (CE). Replace your helmet every 5 years or after an accident.
Lighting
Front light (white) and rear light (red) are mandatory in the dark and twilight. Choose bright lights that can be seen even in daylight. Change the batteries regularly.
Reflectors
The bike must have reflectors - front (white), rear (red), wheels (yellow). Reflective vest increases visibility.
Lock
Invest in a good bike lock - a U-lock or a strong chain lock. Secure the wheel to a fixed object. Do not leave the bike unattended.
Repair supplies
Rubber repair kit, spare tire, pump, tools (hex keys). Learn to repair rubber yourself. Bring a drinking bottle.
Clothing
Comfortable, breathable clothes. Rainwear, windbreaker. Gloves protect hands and improve grip. Glasses protect against wind and insects.
