Introduction
Energy saving helps protect the environment and reduce bills. Here are simple steps that anyone can take.
Heating
Lower the room temperature by 1°C - you save up to 5% of heating costs. The optimum is 20-21°C in the living room, 17-18°C in the bedroom. Install thermostats on radiators. Ventilate quickly (open the windows for 5-10 minutes), do not leave the windows open.
Warming up
Check window and door seals - replace worn seals. Install seals on windows and doors to prevent drafts. Insulate the attic and walls if possible.
Electricity
Replace old lamps with LEDs - they consume up to 90% less electricity. Turn off the lights when you are not in the room. Switch off the devices completely, do not leave them in standby mode - use contacts with an extension switch.
Home appliances
Buy energy-efficient appliances (A+++). Use the washing machine and dishwasher only with a full load. Wash at a lower temperature (30-40°C). Dry laundry outdoors, not in the dryer.
Water
Install economical shower heads and faucets. Turn off the water when brushing and soaping your teeth. Fix dripping taps - one drop per second makes 10,000 liters a year.
Check
Monitor your consumption. Install a smart energy meter. Compare bills with previous years.
