Tin marks and stamping
For gold, look for the stamp - 375 (9k), 585 (14k), 750 (18k), 916 (22k), 999 (24k). Silver - 800, 925, 950. Platinum - 850, 900, 950. Stamps give information about purity. On genuine jewelry, they are clear and precise.
Weight
The price of precious metals depends largely on weight. Use a jewelry scale. Consider that jewelry with precious stones weighs more, but the stones have their own value.
Stones
Diamonds - price according to 4C: carat (weight), color (color), clarity (purity), cut (cut). Colored stones - ruby, sapphire, emerald - their value depends on rarity, color, purity. Be careful with synthetic stones.
In the case of watches
Brand - Well-known brands (Rolex, Omega, Patek Philippe, etc.) hold value. Model, rarity, condition, original documents and box will increase the price. Mechanical watches are worth more than quartz.
Condition
Scratches, dents, wear - these reduce the value. Genuine parts are important - replaced non-genuine parts reduce value.

Go to a trusted pawn shop, jeweler or watchmaker. Compare multiple estimates. Be careful if someone offers to buy now - the price may be too low.
