Acoustic drum kit
The basic set consists of: bass drum (hit with a pedal), small drum, tom-toms (2-3 pcs), hi-hat (aprons with feet), aprons (either 1-2).
Pros: Genuine, dynamic sound, feel.
Cons: Very loud, needs a lot of space, disturbing neighbors, expensive.
Suitable for those who have their own house, good sound insulation, budget.
Electric drums
Pros: Quieter, can be used with headphones, volume control, many sounds, more compact, recording function.
Cons: The feel is different from the acoustic, the pads may be smaller, the electronics may break.
Suitable for an apartment, for beginners, for night practice.
What to consider
Budget - Acoustic is more expensive, especially with soundproofing. Space - Do you have a place where the drums stand and where you can play undisturbed. Noise - electric ones are a better choice for an apartment.
Additional equipment
Drum chair - comfortable, adjustable. Pedals - bass pedal, hi-hat pedal. Sticks - different sizes and weights. Headphones (insulating) - you can hear the music and your own game. Metronome - for practice.
