Introduction
Children's feet grow quickly and need the right support. Here's how to choose good children's shoes.
Size
Children's feet should be measured every 2-3 months. Measure in the evening when your feet are a little bigger. Stand on the paper and draw the contour of the foot - measure the distance from the longest toe to the heel. Add 0.5-1 cm growth margin.
Width
The legs are of different widths. Shoes should be wide enough to allow the toes to move. Do not buy shoes that are too narrow - this can cause discomfort.
Support
Check that the shoe has a strong heel guard that holds the heel in place. The shoe should be flexible in the front where the toes bend, but not in the middle. A good insole supports the arch of the foot.
Material
Natural materials such as leather or fabric allow the foot to breathe and reduce sweating. Avoid synthetic materials that do not breathe. Check that there are no rough seams inside the shoe.
Confirmation
Lace or velcro fastening - important to be able to fasten the shoe in such a way that it stays on the foot, but is not too tight. The velcro fastening is easier for children to fasten themselves.
Trying on
Try the shoe on both feet - sometimes feet are different sizes. The child should stand and walk. Ask how the child feels - is he comfortable. Check that the toes do not touch the tip of the shoe.
